The first draft of Swampwater is complete. Now to polish it abit before sending it off to the editor. This work is about 60k larger then anything i have ever done in the past and at the moment i'm quite pleased with it. I hope you enjoy it as much as i have in writing it.

updated word total
hello all.... this is Jamie (David's wonderfully forgetful wife)... I've been lax in updating his word total this week. I finally got it caught up and my dedicated husband has put in nearly 10k words in the last week alone... I am so incredibly proud of him.
Back at it
Sorry for my absence lately, but here is an update on Swampwaters status.
Finally on the last few chapters--the first draft is almost done. Then i will be revise it very quickly before sending it off to the editor. Hope you all will enjoy it as much as i have writing it.

Finally !
Finally I'm starting the conclusion section of Swampwater. Boy this book has some meat to it. Especially for someone who has never done anything longer then 10k before.
Hope you enjoy the final results.

The story continues
Swampwater is back on track. So far this year i have met every daily quota i have set. The story is getting thicker and the evil darker... but anyway that is something you will have to wait and read.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do for a small break before i start the next story after Swampwater?

New Year?
The New Year is in a few hours: i thought i would slip in one or two of my goals for the coming year.
1) To finnish Swampwater before the end of January.
2) To complete and have at least two more full length works published after Swampwater before the end of the year.
3) To write at least 500 words a day when i'm working and 2k on my days off.
See all reasonable don't you think?

Its up its up and oh boy its up!
Finally i at least have it up on SW. Now i'm going to bed. But first i must thank 3 people for their help in getting my first book published. First of all my editor- Jennifer at wildaboutbones. She has been very patient with me and without her keen eye, none of this would of been possible. Second is Claudy Conn. Just talking to her about the many questions(sometimes silly questions) that would pop... up was very helpful. and without her i would of never have been pointed in Jennifers direction. Third and most important-- to my wonderful Jamie. thanking her for her support and faithful undieing loyalty to my cause and her constant words of encouragement. Hope you enjoy it Dark Twisted Tales as much as i did writing it. Now off to bed !!

Finally my editor and I are back on track.
I'm sorry for the lack of posts, My editor has had some health issues. She seems to be doing better now. Let me tell you the work she does is well worth the wait and time we have put in. I'm so glad to have her on my side and back on the trail to finnish this first endeavor of mine. Now what follows is the Hook for Dark Twisted Tales. Its not complete, but i really think highly of her work and my effort on this. Hope you enjoy and can't wait to here from you all.

Hook...

Hook...
Herein lies a short story collection of Twilight Zone-ish, Tales From the Darkside-esque and Night Gallery-type stories by new genre author David Enochs spotlighting normal everyday individuals who have “what if…” scenarios inserted into their lives.
In Lured a man finds out what the shadows of a dark room really are.
Inside the Envelope features Jade, who given the opportunity to walk away, lets his curiosity get the better of him and he just has to ask the envelope.
An author favorite, The Maple Tree, shows the value of a good friend when past horrors come knocking, even if the friend is hiding a big secret.
The collection is rounded out with two, very, shorts. A Matter of Conscience examines the wisdom of listening to the little voice in your head and in A Cute Little House, Jamie lives the adage “if these walls could talk…” while house hunting.
Also includes a preview of Enochs’ upcoming novel, Swampwater.

Update to release
Ok my editor has told me she has been having internet issues, but is now hard at it again. So as she is editing the last few stories for my anthology i'm hard at work on my next wip-Swampwater. Hope you will enjoy both of them.
Soon i will be bringing you sort of a compilation of all the details of being a first time author. I'm here to tell you there is alot of stuff behind the scenes behind just putting your fantasy worlds on paper.
Thanks again for your pleasure and time

My bio
I live in the northeast portion of Kansas with the love of my life, Jamie, who supports and encourages me in everything I do, especially my writings. I am relatively new to the world of professional writing but draw from a long history of reading and my travel experiences to more than thirty eight states and three different foreign countries.
My favorite reads are usually anything with more than a 1000 words. I have a few select authors I really enjoy covering a wide variety of genres such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Brian Lumley, H.P. Lovecraft, Ann McCaffery, Terry Brooks, Timothy Zhan and one of my newest favorites, Claudy Conn. There are few things I enjoy doing as much as reading, the exceptions being writing, playing chess and spending a quiet evening at home with my family.
Inspiration for my stories comes from many places, it could be from someone in a crowd who catches my eye or an interesting idea I’ve seen throughout the day which doesn’t leave my mind until I write it all down. I’m a firm believer that if you put your mind to something, the possibilities are endless as to what you can do.
I love to hear from fans with good, or not so good, feedback and can be found on facebook, search for David A Enochs Author, or on my blog at denochs.blogspot.com.
I hope you enjoy what you read and I’m looking forward to giving my readers many more stories in the future.
Thank you,
David.
